|
Carrig House Civic and Primary Care Centre a community health facility consisting of a Health Service Executive and General Practitioner primary care centre, University College Cork medical education facility, café, pharmacy, optician, seminar room with reception foyer and onsite parking structure all within the curtilage of Carrig House, Cobh.
Carrig House is a listed structure and has been recently refurbished and renovated for use by Cobh Town Council.
The proposals also include a landscaped roof to the community health centre which will form a contemporary formal garden for Carrig House and a new public space for viewing Cork Harbour and environs.
This proposal has a very important civic and community dimension and will act as a significant gateway development for Cobh.
This development not only acts as a primary care medical centre but as a civic centre combining as it does Cobh Town Council services, medical services, education facilities and recreation amenity in the form of cafés and landscaped public spaces all on the same prominent site.
