| The Glanmire Nursing Home is a 3600 m² full time care facility over 3 floors on a steeply sloping site outside Cork city. The rooms are arranged around two quiet courtyards and cater for individuals or couples on the ground and upper floors with services located in the semi-basement level. The main dining areas are located in the courtyards and the smaller day spaces are placed to maximise light and views.
There are 54 residential rooms on the ground floor and 32 rooms on the upper floor within the main building and 12 Independent Living Units (1 and 2 bed) on the lower part of the site. There is parking on the site for 48 cars. Each private room has its own fully accessible bathroom and views either into the courtyards or to the outside. The reception area contains lifts and stairs providing access to all levels. The corridor layout is designed to allow easy supervision and communication by staff. Other accommodation includes Treatment rooms, Family-Stay room, Chapel, sheltered smoking areas, assisted bathing facilities, kitchen, laundry, stores, staff facilities and offices. The home is ideally located being close to the city but in a quiet countryside location. |
