| The Rushbrooke National School in Cobh Co. Cork has surpassed it’s capacity and therefore a new school is required for 680 pupils on the same site. The new building is a 4200 m² two-storey 24 classroom national school with a special needs unit, sports hall, library, staff facilities and administration.The design approach is to utilise the sloping site to create internal and external spaces that provide clear direction and areas of calm contemplation contusive to learning.
The approach from the town will be formally addressed with clear delineation of entrance, route and destination. The school is a bespoke design based on the Department of Education Generic Repeat Design and is being produced on the basis of DoES technical Guidance Documents and the GCCC form of contract. |
